Radiopharmaceuticals and radiochemical preparations • labeling the biologically active compounds, e.g. peptides or monoclonal antibodies, with radioisotopes; • synthesis of organic substances and biologically active compounds, e.g. peptides, as potential precursors for radioisotope labeling; • development of methods for tracer preparation in a form of kits for labeling with radionuclides (99nTc,188Re, 90Y); • custom labelling of chemical substances with various radionuclides; • evaluation of receptor affinity and cytotoxicity of radiolabelled compounds in cell lines; • development of quality control methods for radiopharmaceuticals; • finding most favorable parameters for production of radioisotopes with high specific activity irradiated in nuclear reactor. Sealed radiation sources • development of encapsulation methods of sealed sources; • application of polymers for preparation of active cores of sealed sources; • development of fabrication and encapsulation methods of miniature sealed sources for brachytherapy; • development of manufacturing methods of sealed sources used in industrial radiography; • classification tests of sealed sources. |

| 5th EMIM’10 - scientific and organizational success! |
 EMIM’10 (European Molecular Imaging Meeting 2010) was held in Warsaw Poland on May 26-29, 2010. EMIM’10 was the 5th conference organized by the European Society for Molecular Imaging (ESMI). ESMI as the society is gathering representatives of various disciplines, the program of EMIM’10 reflected this multidisciplinary character, from fundamental research in biology to clinical applications with newest developments in technology and instrumentation. The following European networks and organizations contributed also to the meeting program: Diagnostic Molecular Imaging (DiMI), Clinigene, COST Actions D38 and BM0607 as well as the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM). |

Europejskiego Kongresu Gospodarczego 2010 odbyła się uroczysta gala wręczenia nagród laureatom konkursu „Innowacyjny projekt” oraz „Efektywny przedsiębiorca/firma”. Inicjator konkursu, Polska Agencja Rozwoju Przedsiębiorczości (PARP) wyróżnił w tym konkursie m.in. projekt „Uruchomienia innowacyjnej technologii produkcji zestawów do obrazowania molekularnego” realizowany w IEA POLATOM Ośrodku Radioizotopów. |
